It’s been a difficult 2024 season for Brooks Koepka, with the five-time major winner’s sole victory coming in at LIV Golf’s Singapore event.
The American, who prides himself on majors, has failed to compete in the four most significant events of the season despite starting well on several occasions.
The 34-year-old’s US Open performance was particularly frustrating. After starting fast at Pinehurst, the American wilted badly in North Carolina. As a result, Koepka controversially refused to talk to the media.
Now, after the first round of LIV Golf Greenbrier, Koepka has spoken about his 2024 season thus far.
Brooks Koepka laments ‘horrible’ major championship season

Despite being one of the highest-paid golfers of all time, it takes a lot to get Koepka excited about his performance, and the American delivered a scathing review of his major championship form on Friday.
“This year has not been great,” Koepa told LIV Golf. “This year has been actually very disappointing. I haven’t played anywhere what I want to play.”
He added: “Played absolutely horrible in all the majors and only won once out here, so that’s not anywhere where I want it.”
Signs of life for Brooks Koepka at LIV Golf Greenbrier
Thankfully, there have been signs of life for Koepka. The American carded a bogey-free six under par 64 in West Virginia and is sat just one shot back of Smash GC teammates Talor Gooch and Jason Kokrak.
Starting on the second, Koepka picked up shots on the 3rd and 4th before making three consecutive birdies on the back nine.
Another birdie followed on the par-five 17th to leave the five-time major winner in a strong position heading into Saturday’s second round.
Despite Koepka’s clear disdain for his 2024 form, two top-30 finishes, coming at the US Open and PGA Championship, are by no means disastrous.
There are positive signs; it’s now about ensuring he contends for longer in tournaments when the 2025 season rolls around.
