Billy Horschel has got himself into contention to win at the Wyndham Championship this weekend.
The popular American carded a second round of two-under to put himself just two off the leaders ahead of a mammoth 36 hole Sunday.
The overnight leader is experienced fellow American, Matt Kuchar, who has got himself to 12-under par following an excellent second round of six-under.
For Horschel, the agony of missing out on The Open a few weeks back is driving him to want to win again.
And he’s made a prediction on what number he’ll need to get to on Sunday to stand any chance.

Billy Horschel names the number it will take to win the Wyndham Championship
Speaking to the media after his third round yesterday, Horschel made a prediction on just what sort of score would be needed to come out on top.
“We know what the winning score always is, around 18 to 20 under par. We know what we need to get to. You just need to keep giving yourself opportunities,” Horschel said.
“Keep putting the ball on the fairway, keep getting yourself opportunities on the green and hopefully you can get on a roll of making some birdies and can push the gas pedal down.”
What score has won the last five Wyndham Championships?
Horschel is pretty much spot on in what he is saying here but there is some disparity as well over the last few years.
Indeed, the last two have been won by Lucas Glover and Tom Kim at that 20-under mark.
However, in 2021, Kevin Kisner managed to get over the line in just 15-under, while the few years prior, an even better score was needed.
2020 saw Jim Herman card a 21-under, while the year before JT Poston carded a quite remarkable -22 to win out.
Anything can happen in the final round but as Horschel says, a decent score is going to win it here.
