Billy Horschel has enjoyed a stellar PGA Tour season, but it doesn’t come close to those of Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schauffele.
Schauffele has a lot of respect for Scheffler, with the players in second and first in the world rankings respectively.
According to Brandel Chamblee, Scheffler falls short of Tiger Woods, although the 2024 Masters champion doesn’t look like slowing down anytime soon.
Schauffele and Scheffler will undoubtedly be battling it out for the Player of the Year award thanks to their phenomenal seasons.
The former has two wins this year, which came at the PGA Championship and The Open, while he boasts 13 top-10s.

Who will Billy Horschel pick for Player of the Year?
The latter meanwhile has six PGA Tour wins, including the Masters, along with an Olympic gold medal and 15 top-10s.
Their compatriot Horschel has now weighed in on the debate over who has had the better year, having been asked if he has already made up his mind about who to vote for.
Speaking in his BMW Championship press conference, Horschel said: “Listen, the next two weeks do matter, but I’ll be honest with you; I haven’t always voted for Player of the Year sometimes because I just think it’s too tough to make a decision.
“Maybe that’s a bad thing and probably shouldn’t say that, but there’s a couple times I haven’t voted for Player of the Year because I couldn’t make a decision who I thought had the better season, so I just let it go.
“But I do think if I were to sit here right now and make a decision, I’d probably vote for Scottie because I think Scottie has got six or seven wins, he’s got a gold medal, he’s got a Masters, and The Players I believe is a fifth major, so I would say Scottie has had the better year, and Scottie would be my pick for Player of the Year.”
Scottie Scheffler deserves the honour ahead of Xander Schauffele
Both Scheffler and Schauffele have had stunning seasons, which could, of course, get better given what is to come.
The duo are both in contention to win the FedExCup title thanks to their positions in the points list, with Scheffler in first and Schauffele in second.
