Anthony Kim might not have won an event in professional golf in over 14 years but the LIV Golf wildcard has sent a defiant message ahead of the 2025 season.
Kim is set for another year on LIV after being brought to the tour in 2024 as a wildcard in a bid to get more eyeballs on the product.
In the main, Kim’s return did work for LIV although his results in actual events left a lot to be desired.
Kim’s best finish on LIV came in the event at Greenbrier as he finished 36th but he was never really in contention to win as the likes of Jon Rahm and Brooks Koepka dominated.
However, ahead of the 2025 season, Kim has sent a defiant message and admitted he actually draws on his past mistakes now he’s older.

Anthony Kim makes promise to himself and golf fans ahead of 2025
Speaking at the International Series in Qatar after making the cut to play rounds three and four, Kim looked back on his career and admitted he’s a far better player for the mistakes he made.
“I know a lot of people have probably seen my last year and don’t think that’s possible [contending on Sundays], but I think it’s going to happen. I 100% believe in myself, and I think it’s just a matter of time,” Kim said.
“Obviously, the results aren’t what I wanted so far, but I think I am ahead of schedule.
“I’m working with more focus than I ever have. When I played professionally in my 20s, I didn’t know what I was doing, how to prepare, or how to practice. I know all of these things now after taking such a long time away from the game.
“I think that’s the benefit of not having played, is watching and analysing what I did before. I made so many mistakes before, and I’m trying to clean that up now.”
How Anthony Kim did on his return to golf in 2024
Kim’s return to golf came with some excitement at the time but all in all, his results didn’t match that excitement.
Kim received a bonus of around $5m for signing in the first place but he was unable to take advantage of the big prize money on offer.

Indeed, Kim failed to finish inside the top 45 players in every event before his 36th at Greenbrier, before he managed another top 45 finish by securing a tie for 42nd at the Chicago event.
Kim, then, will be hoping to push into top 30 and top 25 finishes in 2025 as he looks to firmly cement his return to the game.
