He’s renowned for his foul-mouthed rants, but Tyrrell Hatton is also one of the best golfers in the LIV Golf League and a key figure of the Team Europe Ryder Cup side.
Originally from High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, Tyrrell Hatton progressed through the Challenge Tour before eventually earning himself a spot on the European Tour in 2014.
Hatton claimed his first European Tour victory at the 2016 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. That’s a tournament that’s very special to him, with Hatton making history by winning the prestigious DP World Tour event for a third time in 2024.

At the time of writing, Tyrrell Hatton is 33-years-old, soon to be 34. He was born in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, on 14 October 1991.

Hatton is 5ft 9in tall or 1.75 metres, which makes him one of the smaller players in the LIV Golf League.
Tyrrell Hatton world ranking
Tyrrell Hatton is currently 25th in the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR). He has steadily slipped down the rankings due to his presence on LIV as opposed to the PGA Tour.
His win at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in 2024 did help, but it’s worth noting he started 2024 in 12th in the OWGR, and has dropped ever since.
Interestingly, Tyrrell Hatton wants a change to the ranking system, which would see breakaway tour events given OWGR points.

Before joining LIV Golf, Hatton’s estimated net worth was around $5 million. However, after signing a lucrative deal with LIV, Hatton’s season earnings for 2025 were projected to exceed $50 million.
According to The Express, that figure could actually be way off. It is thought Hatton bagged a $63 million signing bonus when he joined the LIV Golf League.
During the 2025 season, Hatton earned another $9.6 million in prize money. Add that to his $26.1 million earned on the PGA Tour and another $23.5 million on the European Tour, and it’s clear that Hatton’s net worth could be a lot higher than we first thought.
Tyrrell Hatton LIV Golf stats
Tyrrell Hatton made the decision to join the LIV Golf League in 2024. He signed on with Jon Rahm as part of the Legion XIII team.
Upon joining, Hatton explained his choice, saying: “The team aspect played a big part, and being with Jon as well was a huge draw. I like the schedule, traveling around the world and playing in different places.”
Hatton finished fourth in the overall standings during his debut season with LIV. The highlight of the Englishman’s year came in Nashville, where he claimed his first victory. Hatton also finished third in Andalucia, tied second at JCB, and came fourth in Chicago.
In 2025, Legion XIII won the team title in the LIV Golf League. They won four events along the way. That success was largely down to Rahm, who also won the player title this season. As for Hatton, it was a bit of a disappointing year, with a 26th place finish.
Hatton’s best finish in 2025 was a T5 in Mexico City and Dallas, and he also tied for 6th in Riyadh at the start of the season.

Hatton turned pro in 2011, and joined the Tour in 2014. Overall, he played 136 events on the PGA Tour, making the cut in 109 of them over the years.
His highlight on the PGA Tour is undoubtedly winning the Arnold Palmer Invitational in 2020. He also has eight international wins to his name, including that trio of Alfred Dunhill Links victories, the Italian Open in 2017, and the BMW PGA Championship in 2020.
Hatton managed three runner-up slots in his time on the Tour, finished 3rd five times, and landed in the top five 16 times.
Tyrrell Hatton’s Ryder Cup record
Hatton has now represented Team Europe four times in the Ryder Cup, in 2018, 2020, 2023, and 2025.
In the recent victory at Bethpage Black, it was Hatton who won the key point to secure the victory for Team Europe.
It’s safe to say Hatton loves it at the Ryder Cup. In the last two tournaments, not only has he lifted the trophy with Team Europe, but his record speaks for itself. Hatton is unbeaten, with six wins and two halves from the eight matches played across 2023 and 2025.

Tyrrell Hatton’s caddie is now Hugo Dobson. The pair are old friends, having known each other since they were 14-years-old. They used to play golf together as juniors and professionals before Hatton’s career really took off.
Michael Donaghy had been Tyrrell Hatton’s caddie for a long time, and had been around the professional circuits for over three decades. However, Donaghy picked up an injury in 2024, and Hatton made the decision to move in a different direction.

Hatton married his wife, Emily Braisher, in 2021. Braisher is also English and has been spotted with Hatton on tour for years, going back to the 2018 Ryder Cup. She regularly documents her life as the partner of a pro golfer using social media.
Hatton’s parents are Jeff and Karen Hatton. Tyrrell has credited his father with helping him rise to the top of the game.
Jeff and Tyrrell played together during the 2024 Alfred Dunhill. On that, he said: “Playing alongside my dad has been awesome. We are pretty fortunate. This is the third time we’ve been able to play this tournament together, and I think finally this year, my dad sort of settled down and he actually played some good golf.”
