Tiger Woods’ Sun Day Red announced the signing of PGA Tour rookie Karl Vilips as the brand’s first ambassador on Tuesday.
After teasing a potential new addition, Vilips was confirmed as the first player to endorse the clothing line that has faced criticism since its emergence into the golf apparel market.
Sun Day Red was launched before the 2024 Genesis Invitational after Woods ended his partnership with Nike Golf.
Woods’ clothing brand opened a store at Pebble Beach but faced intense scrutiny from fans after extortionate prices emerged. What’s more, back in October 2024, fans were left in disbelief after Sun Day Red released a limited edition $50 ball marker.
Clearly, the brand has work to do in order to build its reputation, and hopefully, the addition of PGA Tour rookie Vilips will prove beneficial.
Like Woods, Vilips progressed through the college system. According to the Sun Day Red website, “Karl’s journey embodies some parallels to Tiger Woods’ own journey—from child prodigy to Stanford champion to early professional success.”

Vilips placed 19th in the Korn Ferry Tour standings after only ten starts, earning him a 2025 PGA Tour card.
