Two-time major champion looks in real danger of missing out on Keegan Bradley’s Ryder Cup team now

The remaining American Ryder Cup hopefuls have now done all they can to impress Keegan Bradley, who is set to announce his captain’s picks for Bethpage Black.

Bradley will confirm his Ryder Cup picks on Wednesday, with the prestigious team event taking place in New York this time next month.

Six Americans have qualified automatically for the Ryder Cup, with qualification having concluded after the BMW Championship.

World number one Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schauffele were among the players to have made the cut, along with LIV Golf star Bryson DeChambeau.

But missing out were the likes of Justin Thomas and the captain himself, with Bradley having finished 11th in the standings.

Another high-profile player to miss out on an automatic spot for Bethpage Black was Collin Morikawa, who finished eighth.

He now relies on a captain’s pick from Bradley, who could indeed select himself, simply adding to the competition for places.

Regardless, Morikawa already looks in real danger of missing out on the team entirely given the latest developments in America.

Bradley has told Sam Burns he’s on the Ryder Cup team, with the latter getting the call after finishing 16th in the qualification standings.

How has Collin Morikawa performed on the PGA Tour in 2025?

European players have really enjoyed themselves on the PGA Tour in 2025, clinching many important wins throughout the regular season.

Their Ryder Cup star man Rory McIlroy won The Masters, while Tommy Fleetwood has just triumphed at the Tour Championship.

But American players haven’t gone quietly either, with Scheffler claiming the PGA Championship and The Open Championship, while Spaun secured the US Open.

Morikawa meanwhile has largely been left behind, with the 28-year-old without a victory in the 2025 season.

In fact, his last success arrived at the 2023 ZOZO Championship, demonstrating just how out of form Morikawa really is.

He does, of course, have a superb history, winning the 2020 PGA Championship and The Open in 2021, but such displays have been far too few and far between in more recent times.

Form should be high on Bradley’s agenda when making his selections, along with players showing up when it really matters.

And Morikawa did the opposite when he was impressing at this year’s Arnold Palmer Invitational, taking a one-shot lead into the final round before losing to compatriot Russell Henley.
