Keegan Bradley quickly turns his immediate focus to the Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black after only just taking on the Tour Championship.

Bradley congratulated Tommy Fleetwood after he won the Tour Championship, with the American having finished T7 at East Lake.

Fleetwood has confirmed his place on the European Ryder Cup team for the event next month, while Bradley will captain the American team.

Six American players have now automatically qualified for Bethpage Black, with Bradley announcing his captain’s picks on Wednesday.

Bradley could pick himself for the Ryder Cup, which takes place in Long Island, New York on September 26-28.

Keegan Bradley told there are three ‘must haves’ for his Ryder Cup team

Bradley now has the world on his shoulders ahead of his announcement, with the captain now told there are three players he simply has to pick for the competition.

Speaking on Golf Channel as the countdown continues, Damon Hack commented: “I have three locks right now.

Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa and Patrick Cantlay. I think they are must haves. Major champs or FedExCup champs in the case of Patrick Cantlay.

“Been there done that. Even if Collin for example, not playing to the height of his power, it is someone that you trust.”

Ryan Lavner says one American player is the ‘perfect fit’ for Bethpage Black

Thomas and Morikawa just missed out on an automatic spot for Bethpage Black, finishing seventh and eighth in qualification.

Cantlay meanwhile, who just finished T2 at the Tour Championship alongside Russell Henley, ended down in 15th.

Continuing the discussion, Ryan Lavner noted: “I agree with those three. I would throw Cam Young into that mix as well.

“Big hitter, knows the golf course, he is a perfect fit for that type of golf course. Big ball park at Bethpage Black.

“He has done the exact thing you want to see over the past month and a half. Won his first tournament, played consistently well over the FedExCup Playoffs. T12 or better in all three Playoff events.

“It seems like he should be on his first Ryder Cup team. Sam Burns I think really benefitted himself over the post-season as well.

“If you are the Team USA leadership you wanted him to do something over the last couple of weeks and he has done that with top sevens in the last two events.”

Burns has been picked for the Ryder Cup, leaving the likes of Thomas, Morikawa, Cantlay and Young in a battle for the rapidly declining remaining places.

Ben Griffin, Maverick McNealy and Andrew Novak could also be on that list, although Bradley will throw a spanner in the works if he does indeed decide to pick himself.
