Keegan Bradley continues to look towards the Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black, where he is set to captain the US team.

Six American Ryder Cup players were confirmed following the conclusion of the BMW Championship, which Bradley played in.

The captain continues his PGA Tour season at the Tour Championship this week, but must also maintain a firm focus on his Ryder Cup captain duties.

The prestigious team event takes place in New York next month, with the home side looking to bounce back from defeat at the 2023 tournament.

Luke Donald captained Team Europe to Ryder Cup success back then, and he has retained his role from that victory in Rome.

Keegan Bradley shares update on potentially being a Ryder Cup playing captain

Much to the delight of Donald, Tyrrell Hatton and Robert MacIntyre have joined Europe’s Ryder Cup team, with five players now qualified.

His counterpart Bradley meanwhile has provided an update on his side, saying on the Today Show: “So we get another six picks that we will make a week from Wednesday. It’s been a long two-year period of trying to pick these guys.

“We’ve got a good idea who we’re looking at, but we get another week for the boys to prove for the last couple of spots on the team.”

And when asked if he’s decided on playing, Bradley replied: “That’s the first time I’ve been asked that question!

“When this process started we didn’t know where this was going to fall. Turns out I got a chance to make the team, but I’m going to do what I think is best for the United States Ryder Cup team. As of right now, I don’t know what I’m going to do.”

Keegan Bradley makes Scottie Scheffler admission about the Ryder Cup

It really is an intriguing situation that Bradley finds himself in, with the captain arguably among the best American players in world golf right now.

At the same time, however, he will be very busy with his captaincy duties at Bethpage, and playing is likely to distract him from such duties.

And despite his situation remaining up in the air, he’s very excited for the event, having offered his verdict on what makes the Ryder Cup so special.

“Well it’s our ultimate event in our sport,” he said. “And I went to school down the road at St. John’s University, so I’m well aware of what Bethpage means to the people of New York and our team is going to represent that at the highest level.”

Bradley also added a short and sweet summary of the world number one’s presence for the hosts, saying of Scheffler: “I’m glad he’s on our side!”

Scheffler was the first player to qualify for the American side, and he has since been joined by the likes of fellow major champions J.J. Spaun and Xander Schauffele.

But all eyes will be on Scheffler, who just continued his phenomenal run by clinching his fifth PGA Tour win of 2025 at the BMW Championship.
