The Ryder Cup has almost arrived, and Luke Donald’s Team Europe is beginning to take shape for Bethpage Black.

America’s qualifying process for the Ryder Cup concluded following the BMW Championship, the second of three FedExCup Playoff tournaments.

It was won by world number one Scottie Scheffler, who had already qualified for the home team for Bethpage Black before his success.

Completing the contingent for Keegan Bradley are J.J. Spaun, Xander Schauffele, Harris English, Russell Henley and Bryson DeChambeau.

America’s qualification process has now come to an end, with Europe’s ending following next week’s British Masters.

Luke Donald reacts as two European players confirm their Ryder Cup places

Regarding the visitors, Donald welcomed Rory McIlroy to his Ryder Cup team in June, with The Masters champion becoming his side’s first qualified player.

Tommy Fleetwood and Justin Rose later followed suit, with the captain now delighted to have two further additions for New York.

Following the conclusion of the BMW Championship, both Robert MacIntyre and Tyrrell Hatton have qualified for Team Europe.

Reacting to that confirmation, Donald wrote on X: “Two great characters and golfers back on Team Europe. Team is shaping up nicely.”

Which other European players could play at the Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black?

As Donald noted, the visiting team is indeed shaping up nicely for an away Ryder Cup, led by serial winner McIlroy.

But the Northern Irishman hasn’t been the only European player enjoying themselves on the course this season.

Rose recently triumphed at the St. Jude Championship, while MacIntyre and Fleetwood have been very impressive on the PGA Tour in recent times without winning.

Plenty of other top players meanwhile will add to the already positive situation when Donald makes his captain’s picks.

Working alongside vice captains Edoardo Molinari, Thomas Bjorn, Jose Maria Olazabal and Francesco Molinari, he has a long list of talented names to choose from.

Shane Lowry has thus far failed to land a place for Bethpage Black, as have the likes of Sepp Straka, Ludvig Aberg and Viktor Hovland.

Jon Rahm, Matt Fitzpatrick and Rasmus Hojgaard are also on that list, with Donald not short of options to help try and achieve the near impossible by winning an away Ryder Cup.
