Jordan Spieth leads all current players in one impressive Masters statistic ahead of the 2025 tournament in two weeks.

Spieth came runner-up at Augusta National in 2014 and 2016, either side of his outstanding victory 10 years ago – the first of his three major championships.

He’s finished in the top 10 three times since that run but he’s definitely not had as much success lately as he did earlier on in his career.

That’s why it’s quite remarkable that he’s still at the top of one Masters list, with Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Rory McIlroy all behind him.

Jordan Spieth leads all PGA Tour and LIV Golf players in one Masters stat

Spieth has the lowest Masters scoring average of any current player. He’s averaged 70.95 shots in his 40 tournament rounds at Augusta.

He’s closely followed by 2023 Green Jacket winner Jon Rahm in second (70.97) and well clear of Woods in third (71.30).

Other superstars in the top 10 include Mickelson, McIlroy and Xander Schauffele, all of which average more than 71 strokes per round.

Of course, Spieth’s early success at the Masters helped towards this record but it’s also a testament to this consistency at Augusta.

The 31-year-old has only missed the cut twice in 11 appearances, albeit one was last year so he’ll be determined to not make it a habit.

Where Jordan Spieth went wrong in last year’s Masters Tournament

Spieth (+9) missed the weekend by three shots at the 2024 Masters after rounds of 79 (+7) on Thursday and 74 (+2) on Friday.

Though that seems like an abysmal performance by his standards, Spieth explained that just two holes let him down at Augusta.

He said: “It was just two holes. Other than that, I could have had a bit of a chance. I have shown that if I’m within ten on Sunday, there’s a chance, so I always believe that there.

“It was just two holes where a little bit of I didn’t have it quite tight enough in my game, so maybe I made a little bit too aggressive of a decision around the greens. It was number one in the first round and then number 15 in the first round; they were two different days.”

Indeed, he made a double bogey on the first hole and a quadruple bogey on the 15th in the first round last year. It’s easy to say but if those were just bogeys, he’d have made the cut.”
