Augusta weather for The Masters 2024

According to BBC Weather, there is a threat of thunderstorms on the opening day of Thursday, which could lead to some delays in the action. After that, it is forecast to be clear and sunny, with highs of 29 degrees.

Who is going to win The Masters?

Scottie Scheffler is arguably the favourite to win The Masters 2024, with good reason too. He won the two signature events in March – the Arnold Palmer Invitational and the Players Championship.

John Rahm is also the reigning Masters champion – so cannot be ruled out. But much has changed since his victory. He left the PGA Tour to join the Saudi-backed LIV Golf tour and hasn’t played against PGA Tour opponents since he tied for 18th at the Tour Championship in East Lake in August.

Xander Schauffele also has a chance. The World No. 5 golfer hasn’t yet won a major but he routinely plays well at them, logging 11 top-10 finishes across the four events since 2017.

Finally, a real outside shot is Sahith Theegala. The 26-year-old made his tournament debut in 2023 and earned a ninth-place finish, which is mightily impressive. He plays well on the Augusta National course.

Can LIV players play in this year’s Masters tournament?

Yes, but not as many. LIV Golf will have fewer participants in the 2024 Masters Tournament than in 2023 because the circuit doesn’t award Official World Golf Ranking points. In the end, 13 golfers from the LIV Golf circuit are set to compete in the Masters Tournament this year.

Is Tiger Woods playing in The Masters 2024?

Yes, Tiger Woods is playing in The Masters 2024, but expectations will be low for the five-time Masters champion. He has only played at the Genesis Open in Riviera, where he withdrew due to illness – meaning he’ll be more than a little rusty.
