Scottie Scheffler continues his 2025 PGA Tour season this week, headlining the field for The CJ Cup Byron Nelson.
Scheffler has been told to step up his game along with his compatriots, having watched Rory McIlroy win The Masters.
That verdict comes in a Ryder Cup year, with Team USA welcoming Team Europe to Bethpage Black in September.
Scheffler was criticised at the RBC Heritage, having taken on the PGA Tour event immediately after The Masters, finishing T8 at Harbour Town.
World number one Scheffler finished fourth at Augusta National as he failed to defend his title, having also won The Masters in 2022.

The venue Scottie Scheffler picked as his favourite golf course in 2022
He clearly enjoys playing at the iconic course, but he opted for another American venue when asked to name his favourite golf course.
Speaking to the Korn Ferry Tour back in 2022, Scheffler said: “I think Southern Hills is probably my favourite.”
His current focus is, however, very much on TPC Craig Ranch, with the Texas venue playing host to The CJ Cup Byron Nelson this week.
What major championships has Southern Hills hosted?
Based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the Championship Course at Southern Hills Country Club was originally designed by Perry Maxwell.
It opened for play back in 1936, with Gil Hanse restoring it in 2019 to reflect the original vision from Maxwell.
A total of eight professional majors have taken place at Scheffler’s favourite venue, along with the 2021 Senior PGA Championship.
Its most recent major was the 2022 PGA Championship, which was won by Scheffler’s fellow American Justin Thomas.
The former doesn’t exactly have fond memories of that tournament, with Scheffler having missed the cut at Southern Hills.
That missed cut remarkably came after he clinched the green jacket for the first time, but he quickly recovered to finish T2 at the US Open.
