Bryson DeChambeau is the longest hitter in the professional game right now.

DeChambeau has been driving the ball longer and straighter than ever on LIV Golf this year but the scary thing is that he actually has a lot more power in reserve.

The long-hitting DeChambeau averaged just under 330 yards off the tee on LIV in 2025, with an average ball speed of around 192 mph.

However, DeChambeau’s personal best ball speed is 221.5 mph – a record he achieved during a Cobra driver testing session back in 2021.

That just goes to show how much more distance the two-time US Open champion has in his locker, if he chooses to lean on it.

The 32-year-old has obviously worked really hard on increasing his power and explosiveness, but let’s take a look back and see how long he was able to hit the ball with a 60-year-old driver.

How far Bryson DeChambeau drove the ball when hitting a persimmon driver

59-year-old John Daly drove the ball 275 yards with a persimmon driver back in April.

But how did DeChambeau do in 2023 when he attempted to reach the first green at Cherry Hills with an old-school driver, just like Arnold Palmer did during the final round of the US Open in 1960?

DeChambeau not only drove the green, but his ball rolled over the back of the surface into the rough.

However, in 2024, DeChambeau was at it again with a persimmon driver, this time on the driving range ahead of The Open Championship at Royal Troon.

He clocked a 182 mph ball speed with the 1960’s model driver with a carry of 288.2 yards through the air and a total distance of 292 yards.

The one caveat here was that DeChambeau was using a modern day golf ball, and that undoubtedly would have made a huge difference.

The crazy distance Bryson DeChambeau hit his driver on the Indy 500 track

DeChambeau is well known for attempting plenty of weird and wonderful records when it comes to long driving.

Back in May, the 32-year-old paid a visit to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway track, and attempted to set a new world record.

DeChambeau sent his ball a whopping 738 yards off the tee on the Indy 500 track.

However, that’s still short of the ‘runway record’ set by Kyle Berkshire earlier this year.

The long drive champion drove the ball 1,060 yards on an aeroplane runway.

DeChambeau will undoubtedly be aiming to beat Berkshire’s record at some point, but with the long driving phenomenon capable of reaching 240 mph+ ball speeds, it’s unlikely that he will.
