LIV Golf are seemingly closing in on another new signing for 2026 in the form of PGA Tour player Si Woo Kim.

Si Woo Kim is close to joining LIV Golf, with the likes of Laurie Canter and Victor Perez having already signed up for the new season.

Canter has signed for Majesticks GC, while Perez has joined Cleeks GC for the next edition of the Saudi-backed tour.

Kim meanwhile, a four-time champion on the PGA Tour, is now set to make the switch to Ironheads GC on LIV Golf.

Si Woo Kim really annoyed Justin Thomas at the 2022 Presidents Cup

Kim has been involved in plenty of drama in his career so far, particularly when he really annoyed Justin Thomas in 2022.

The duo were the first Sunday singles match at the Presidents Cup that year, with Thomas representing the United States and Kim representing the International team.

And it didn’t take long to ignite a spark, with Thomas having been left frustrated over Kim’s unwillingness to concede a handful of short putts.

The American then showed his passion on the 15th hole with an emotional fist pump after a big par putt, only for Kim to match him, both scoring-wise and celebration-wise.

But after the South Korean tied the match with three holes to play, he also attempted to quieten the crowd with a lengthy “shush” gesture.

Speaking afterwards, Thomas admitted: “Honestly, at the time, I was pretty p—– off. I think when you’re in the moment, when you’re on the other side of it, it’s something that gets you motivated, gets you pumped up a little bit.

“He hit the shots and made the putts better than I did the last three holes or, really, the last nine holes when he needed to.

“So, I can say whatever I want about it, but he beat me. So he has the upper hand on me. But we won the Cup so that’s all that matters.”

Scottie Scheffler called Si Woo Kim ‘one of the funniest guys’ on the PGA Tour

Kim did indeed go on to win his Sunday singles clash with Thomas at Quail Hollow, emerging victorious by 1-up.

But as his opponent mentioned, both he and the United States would have the last laugh, winning the 2022 Presidents Cup 17.5-12.5.

While Thomas might not be the biggest fan of Kim, his fellow American Scottie Scheffler seemingly likes him a lot.

They were paired together in the first round of this year’s CJ Cup Byron Nelson, during which Kim chipped in for an eagle on the 18th.

Scheffler loved his playing partner’s reaction to the shot, saying afterwards: “He does stuff like that all the time. People don’t realize he is probably one of the funniest guys we have on Tour.

“Just has really good comedic timing and he is the best. Si Woo is undefeated. That was not surprising. Reaction always gets a good laugh out of us.”

Kim only just impressed once more at last week’s Australian Open, finishing third as Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen came out on top.
