Jordan Spieth showed glimpses of his former self this season, but ultimately not enough as he continued his drought on the PGA Tour.
Spieth is a 13-time PGA Tour champion, with his impressive honours list including three major championship wins.
The American also reached number one in the world rankings, but now finds himself down in 59th place in the list.
He was last successful at the 2022 RBC Heritage, while his last major championship win arrived at The Open Championship in 2017.
Spieth thinks he can return to world number one, but that does seem some way away at this moment in time.

What Tiger Woods said was so different about Jordan Spieth in 2014
He reached the summit in 2015, a year in which he won The Masters and the US Open, along with finishing second at the PGA Championship.
The year before, however, he was really catching the eye of legendary figure Tiger Woods, who was tasked with discussing Spieth’s recent displays ahead of the 2014 Quicken Loans National.
Woods said: “He’s been playing great. For a person to have come out of college and done this well, this fast; and been as consistent.
“Normally when you’re young, you come out and you have your weeks from here to there and you may have two, three good weeks a year, maybe more.
“It just seems like he’s having one every week. He’s having Top 10s, seems like every week, he’s always up there somewhere.
“For him to qualify for The Presidents Cup and Tour Championship right out of the hopper, that was pretty impressive.”

How did Jordan Spieth perform on the PGA Tour in 2014?
Spieth joined the PGA Tour in 2013, but quickly made a name for himself by winning the John Deere Classic that year.
The impressive displays continued into 2014, when Spieth failed to double his PGA Tour wins tally, but did claim two runner-up spots.

He more than made up for that lack of silverware in 2015, when the American clinched a stunning five titles, including The Masters and the US Open.
Whether he can return to that level remains to be seen, but Woods certainly wasn’t wrong about his fellow American’s ability when he was initially breaking out.
Spieth matched Woods in his PGA Tour debut year, although he has failed to really build on that very promising start.
But that could change with an early win in the 2026 season, which may include Spieth emulating Woods again by completing the career grand slam should he win the PGA Championship.
