Jordan Spieth endured one of the most underwhelming seasons of his career on the PGA Tour in 2025.

If Spieth is to return to his former glories, he has to make a big change ahead of the 2026 PGA Tour season.

It has already been suggested that Spieth should go down the route of appointing a new coach, in order to freshen things up ahead of the new season.

The man from Dallas, Texas, really struggled throughout the 2025 season, and he is still without a win since April 2022.

He recorded only four top-10 finishes in 19 events this year and every time he even got close to contending, some of his old bad habits came back to haunt him, mostly when he had his putter in hand.

However, Spieth has always been an exceptionally hard worker, and he will be desperate to turn things around in 2026.

Spieth recently insisted he can become world number one again, but now is the time for him to prove he has what it takes.

Spieth’s status on the PGA Tour is obviously well secured, after he finished in 54th position on the FedEx Cup points list in 2025.

However, what he does next should revolve around making a decision which gives him the best chance of succeeding again in the near future.

Spieth should seriously consider playing all four Fall Series events on the PGA Tour over the course of the next six weeks.

Of course, Spieth has played the odd fall event here and there, but never the entire series.

The caveat here is that Spieth and his wife Annie welcomed their third child to their family in July.

Spending four weeks away from home on the road between now and the end of November will obviously be very challenging given the pressures that come along with bringing up a young family.

So that really is a decision for Spieth to make with his wife.

Jordan Spieth faces a tough decision when it comes to his work-life balance

If he is 100 per cent dedicated to rediscovering his best form, and there’s no shame if he’s not, he needs to knuckle down this fall.

Spieth must work tirelessly on his game and compete regularly in tournaments with weaker fields, in order to regain some much-needed confidence.

The PGA Tour’s fall season offers Spieth a great opportunity to do just that.

If he wants to, he could play in the Bank of Utah Championship, the World Wide Technology Championship in Mexico, The Butterfield Bermuda Championship and the RSM Classic in Sea Island Georgia between October 23rd and the end of November.

Playing in all four of those events would be accompanied by a serious amount of travel and much effort would be required for Spieth, especially with three young children and a wife at home.

However, drastic action is needed in order for the three-time major champion to get back to his best. The decision regarding what he does next is, obviously, his to make.
