Justin Rose proved age is simply a number as he clinched the title at the FedEx St. Jude Championship.
Rose wasn’t feeling 100% heading into the FedEx St. Jude Championship, but managed to come out on top in Memphis.
He finished his four rounds on 16-under, level with US Open champion J.J. Spaun, who he then defeated in a playoff.
Rose carded rounds of 64, 66, 67 and 67 at TPC Southwind, before overcoming Spaun after three playoff holes.
The veteran, who secured his only major win at the 2013 US Open, used all of his ability and experience to clinch a memorable victory.

Phil Mickelson’s savage dig at Justin Rose about The Masters in 2020
Rose referenced Phil Mickelson in the aftermath of his latest success, which is ironic given how the American once fired a dig at the Englishman.
It arrived back in 2020, when Rose shared an image of his invitation to The Masters at Augusta National that year.
And Mickelson was quick to comment on the post, writing: “Win it once (or 3x’s) and you get that EVERY YEAR. Just saying.”
The American has an invitation to Augusta every year thanks to his status as a past champion, having won The Masters not once, not twice, but three times.
Justin Rose vs Phil Mickelson major championship record since 2020
Rose has taken on The Masters on six occasions since that jibe from Mickelson, starting with a T23 finish in 2020.
In the years that followed, the Englishman has finished seventh and T16, as well as missing the cut on two occasions.
And there was, of course, heartache for Rose this time around as he lost out on the green jacket in a playoff defeat to Rory McIlroy.
Mickelson meanwhile, who has since left the PGA Tour for LIV Golf, clinched the last of his six major wins in 2021.

This year, the American has struggled on the big stage, missing the cut in three of the four major tournaments and finishing T56 at The Open Championship.
