The LPGA Tour is reaching a dramatic conclusion this week at the CME Group Tour Championship in Florida.

Tiburon Golf Club plays host to the CME Group Tour Championship, with the final round now underway in Naples.

And it is world number one Jeeno Thitikul who started the day in first place, holding a commanding six-shot lead.

Thitikul would certainly represent a fitting winner of the tournament, which will bring the curtain down on another LPGA season.

Nelly Korda firmly involved in perfect scenario currently playing out for the LPGA Tour

Nelly Korda is, however, still in with a chance of spoiling the party close to home, having started out in a tie for second.

She is joined by Pajaree Anannarukarn, but it is home favorite Korda who has indeed been paired with Thitikul.

And that is undoubtedly the perfect scenario for the LPGA Tour, with the exciting battle certain to draw plenty of eyes.

Undoubtedly helping the cause is the remarkable season of the former world number one, with Korda yet to win in 2025.

That comes after she secured a stunning seven victories throughout the 2024 season, including a second major championship win.

It would be quite the storyline if she could finally get over the line this week, which is certainly a real possibility.

How many LPGA Tour events will Nelly Korda win in 2026?

The scenario is not too dissimilar to that of the recent PGA Tour season, where the world numbers one and two stole the show.

Scottie Scheffler clinched six wins in 2025, followed by the three of Rory McIlroy, with Korda currently second in the world rankings behind Thitikul.

How Jeeno Thitikul is dealing with the pressure of Nelly Korda in pursuit

Korda certainly needs a strong start to her final round in Florida, where she should be boosted by plenty of support.

The desire for a first win of 2025 should also provide her with more than enough motivation to pull off the upset despite the six-shot gap.

Asked after her third round how she’s dealing with the pressure, leader Thitikul said: “Well, I think every day we face different situations and I think this is another situation that can help me grow in my golf career. So I’m happy to be able to face it because it’s a good sign. So we’ll see.”

All eyes will be on the duo on Sunday, but there are also plenty of high-profile players who will be looking to finish strong.

And in another huge positive for the LPGA Tour, Minjee Lee, Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson, Brooke Henderson and rising star Lottie Woad are all very well placed in the leaderboard.
