Nobody would be surprised if Ludvig Aberg reaches another level next year after a great end to the 2025 season.

Aberg won the Genesis Invitational in February, but he did not have as much success this year as many had expected.

The Swede only had one top-10 finish at a major (The Masters), missing the cut at the US Open and PGA Championship.

However, Aberg has improved significantly towards the end of the season and could use his recent form as a springboard into 2026.

If all goes well, the 26-year-old could even vindicate Tiger Woods’ comments about him at a TGL event in January.

Ludvig Aberg is starting to prove Tiger Woods’ prediction right

Tiger Woods joined the long list of golf experts to praise Ludvig Aberg and predict that he would become a top player earlier this year.

“It’s so simple. Just straight up, straight down. He doesn’t do anything wrong in his golf swing,” Woods explained.

Has the strategic alliance with the PGA Tour been good for the DP World Tour?

“There’s no little thing that he does… there’s nothing that’s going to stop him from being one of the world’s best.”

Aberg is not currently considered one of “the world’s best,” with Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Tommy Fleetwood, and others rated higher.

However, Aberg’s last eight finishes on the PGA Tour and DP World Tour show that his game is trending in the right direction.

He has not finished outside the top 25 in any of his eight starts since the Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands in June.

Aberg would love to have lifted another trophy, but this consistency is what he needs to join the likes of Scheffler and McIlroy at the pinnacle of the game.

Will 2026 be the year that Aberg wins his first major championship and establishes himself as a generational player?

Butch Harmon thinks Ludvig Aberg has ‘superstar’ potential

Legendary golf instructor Butch Harmon spoke highly of Ludvig Aberg during the second round of The Masters earlier this year.

He believes the European Ryder Cup player has the potential to be the “next superstar” in professional golf.

“I think we’re looking at the next superstar here with this kid. He has all the tools. I think his golf swing is so simple. It’s very up and down,” Harmon said.

Should more American golfers play DP World Tour events?

“He gets on with it. He has a great demeanour. He’s kind of a flatliner. You never know whether he’s up or down. He has a great caddie on his bag, Joe Skovron, who used to caddie for Rickie Fowler. They’re a good team together.”

He continued: “He’s one of those guys where you say, ‘What’s the strongest part of his game?’ The strongest part of his game is that he doesn’t have a weakness. He does everything pretty good.”

That’s high praise from someone who has coached Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, and several other world-class players.
