Brooks Koepka leaving LIV Golf has been the biggest story in the golfing world since the end of the Ryder Cup.

Now LIV Golf superstar Bryson DeChambeau will be keeping a very close eye on what happens next with Koepka.

The news that Koepka had officially left LIV Golf broke on December 23rd and it was obviously a massive blow for the Saudi-backed golf league.

Losing one of their star names at a time when they are struggling to sign big-name players certainly wasn’t ideal for them.

Is this the end of LIV Golf?

It has been claimed that Koepka now plans to play on the DP World Tour in 2026 ahead of a potential return to the PGA Tour in 2027.

However, fans and golf journalists have been questioning how the PGA Tour will facilitate Koepka’s potential return.

If Brian Rolapp wants to make a real statement and kill LIV Golf stone dead, the answer is an obvious one…

The PGA Tour have a real chance to seal Bryson DeChambeau’s return

It is a fact that PGA Tour are in a real position of strength and power right now.

Meanwhile, LIV Golf are on the ropes, as their disappointing season continues after struggling to get signings like Si Woo Kim and Sungjae Im over the line, as things stand.

Now the PGA Tour’s decision regarding Koepka could either help or hinder LIV, depending which way they decide to go.

If the PGA Tour enable Koepka to rejoin without consequence or punishment, it would signal a huge opportunity for many other LIV golfers to part ways with the Saudi-backed circuit.

If his path back to the PGA Tour ends up being resistance-free, DeChambeau will surely be more likely to leave LIV Golf.

However, if the PGA Tour create as many obstacles as possible for Koepka, DeChambeau and others may think twice about jumping ship.

DeChambeau holds all of the power right now regarding his new contract with LIV Golf.

They simply cannot afford to lose the two-time US Open winner because if they do, they will risk losing everything they have built.

Everything is incredibly finely poised right now. What happens with Koepka over the course of the next 12 months will play a huge role in LIV Golf’s future.

What Bryson DeChambeau said about Brooks Koepka’s LIV exit

DeChambeau was one of the first LIV players to speak out when Koepka’s exit from the fledgling golf league was announced.

He was asked whether the five-major winner should be allowed to return to the PGA Tour, if that’s what he wants to do.

I don’t know, man, the two-time US Open champion said.

I don’t know what they should allow or not. If they’re going to be doing it by the book, they should do it by the book and not give any special exemption.

But if there’s a special exemption, it definitely opens the doors for others to do the same, which, you know, it’s a slippery slope for sure.

That final sentence from DeChambeau will surely be a concern for the LIV Golf hierarchy.

If the PGA Tour do indeed open the door for Koepka to seamlessly return, then there will surely be a mass exodus from LIV Golf.

All eyes are on Koepka’s situation right now and the PGA Tour’s next move regarding the 35-year-old’s future could have huge ramifications for both them, and indeed LIV Golf.
