It has been a quiet seven weeks on the PGA Tour since Scottie Scheffler won the Tour Championship at East Lake.

Many of the world’s best golfers either took time off or headed to Europe to compete on the DP World Tour.

But that is all about to change as the likes of Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa and Hideki Matsuyama are all playing in Japan this week.

When does the ZOZO Championship take place?

The ZOZO Championship gets underway on Thursday, October 24, 2024, and the final round is on Sunday, October 27, 2024.

Where is the ZOZO Championship?

The ZOZO Championship is taking place at Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club for the fifth time in the tournament’s six-year history.

It was held at Jack Nicklaus’ championship course at Sherwood Country Club in California in 2020.

ZOZO Championship past results

Collin Morikawa (-14) won last year’s ZOZO Championship by six shots over Eric Cole and Beau Hossler.

Two years ago, Keegan Bradley (-15) beat Rickie Fowler and Andrew Putnam by one stroke to lift his fifth of seven PGA Tour titles.

Tiger Woods won the first-ever ZOZO Championship in 2019, three shots clear of Hideki Matsuyama.

What is the ZOZO Championship field?

There are plenty of big names in the field for the 2024 ZOZO Championship, including Xander Schauffele, Morikawa and Matsuyama.

Americans Sahith Theegala, Justin Thomas and Will Zalatoris will also be in action, as well as South Korean duo Si Woo Kim and Sungjae Im.

ZOZO Championship prize money

The prize money at the ZOZO Championship is $8.5 million. The event will allocate 18% of the total purse to the winner ($1.53m). The runner-up will receive $918,000, while $578,000 will go to third place.

The Golfing Gazette writers predict who they think will lift the ZOZO Championship trophy:

James Shearman: “Hideki Matsuyama will be the home favourite at Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club and he has won the tournament before, in 2021. The 32-year-old has not played since the Tour Championship but his ninth-place finish at East Lake gives confidence that he will be in fine form this week.”

Peter Lynch: “Call it the coward’s way out, but it’s hard to look past Xander Schauffele for this one. He won’t find it as easy as he has elsewhere in 2024, but the world number two will be eager to build upon his best finish at the Zozo Championship of T9.”
