Xander Schauffele will be looking to build from where he left off once the new PGA Tour season begins in January.
At times, the American’s double-major winning year was the talk of the golfing world, and many considered the 31-year-old Scottie Scheffler‘s nearest competitor.
Schauffele believes his prime years are yet to come, and there’s every chance of the American completing the career grand slam before his playing days are over.
Schauffele will start his 2025 season at The Sentry in Hawaii, and the two-time major champion believes he is extremely fortunate to tee it up in Maui at the start of each year.
Xander Schauffele drops verdict on The Sentry ahead of PGA Tour season starting

Schauffele is currently involved in a YouTube series that has documented his off-season. In the first episode, the number two-ranked player explained why the Sentry is a “very special” way to start the year.
“I’ve luckily been able to go to The Sentry every year,” Schauffele said.
“It’s still such a treat to go. A fond memory of mine [2019 victory]. It was a special day. I refer to it as a kind of blackout moment for me. Starting the year in Hawaii is very special and definitely a cool place to start.”
What did Xander Schauffele do at the 2019 Sentry?
One of Schauffele’s best PGA Tour performances took place at The Sentry back in 2019. After shooting a 72 (one under) during the first round, the American was well out of contention.
Nevertheless, scores of 67 (five under) and 68 (four under) allowed Schauffele to start the final round with a slim chance of winning the title. However, exceptional performance was still required.
Schauffele’s final 18 didn’t get off to the best start after he dropped a shot on the first; he then produced a stunning run to fight his way back into the tournament.
The 31-year-old made four birdies and an eagle on the front nine before doing the same on the back. Schauffele would sign for a 62 (11 under) and win by one shot. His 2019 win in Maui will go down as one of his best PGA Tour performances.
