Xander Schauffele and Rickie Fowler are two of the many professional golfers who feature in Happy Gilmore 2.
The sequel to the hugely popular 1996 film starring Adam Sandler airs this summer and the teaser trailer has just been released.
We still don’t know much about the film but the inclusion of some of golf’s real-life superstars makes it even more intriguing.
Schauffele and Fowler shared their thoughts on being involved in the movie before Tuesday night’s TGL semi-final.

Schauffele said it was a “cool experience” to be part of Happy Gilmore 2 and see the legendary actor that is Sandler do his thing.
“Yeah, I’ve always been a huge fan. I feel like I quote him a lot just with my humor. My wife jokes that I have the same, like, egghead that Adam has, too.
“It was really, really — I felt like a kid again when I was able to meet him and sort of see how he operates, and it was cool to see him hands-on and see the rest of his crew and I think just how cool and how close that entire group has stayed.
“Even some of the guys that weren’t in the movie were kind of hanging by and saying what’s up to Adam. It was a really, really cool experience for me.”
Fowler echoed similar sentiments, explaining that he had an existing relationship with Sandler but that it was different watching him in a professional capacity.
“Yeah, I had a blast. I’ve known Adam for a while, and it was fun to be able to be up there for a couple of days. I wish I had played a bit better last year; that would have allowed me to spend some more time there, but I needed to go actually do my real job.
“I had a blast. Like I said, wish I could have done more, but it was fun. Like Xander said, kind of getting to see Adam in his element and be a part of that was special.”
Which professional golfers will feature in Happy Gilmore 2?
Schauffele and Fowler are not the only professional golfers in Happy Gilmore 2. Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, Bryson DeChambeau and Justin Thomas can all be seen in the teaser trailer.
PGA Tour legend John Daly also features with the following message to Happy Gilmore (Sandler): “Come on brother, grip it and rip it.”
We also know that Jordan Spieth and Brooks Koepka have cameos in the film, as well as Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
The movie’s release date is July 25, 2025 and if it’s anything like the original, it will be a smash hit with not only golf fans but the wider public.
