A brand new golf competition begins in 2025 as the TGL indoor golf season as the competition backed by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy is finally set to tee off.
The indoor league, which has been in the works for around two years, has been set up by the PGA Tour, Mike McCarley, Woods, and McIlroy.
Some of the biggest names in golf will also participate in the tournament, which will mix real life and virtual reality.

What is the TGL?
An indoor golf league, the competition will feature six teams representing six different cities.
Players from the PGA tour will compete in two-hour weekly competitions in prime time starting in January 2025.
Initially created in 2022, the TGL was devised as a concept to encourage players to remain on the PGA Tour following the rise of LIV Golf.
What is the TGL format?
Each TGL game consists of 15 holes split across two different sessions.
Session one will see three players from each team take alternative shots from holes one to nine.
The second session meanwhile will see a single player from each side battling it out for two holes each, from holes 10 to 15.
One point is one for each hole, with the team that takes the fewest number of sorts the one that gets the point.
Ties are worth zero points, and in a tied match, the winning team will be decided by a three-vs.-three closest-to-the-pin competition.
How does the TGL league system work?
A points-based system will be used, with the winning side taking home two points for a win and just a single point if beaten in overtime.
If a team loses in regular time, they earn zero points.
Each side will play each other once (five times), and the top four teams will advance to the playoffs, featuring single-elimination semifinals and a “best-of-three” championship series.
