Wyndham Clark told he ‘came out nowhere’ to win 2023 US Open

Clark did, however, enjoy success of his own in 2024, having emerged victorious at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

It represented a third PGA Tour title for the 2023 US Open champion, who also won that year at the Wells Fargo Championship.

Analysing his emergence on Full Swing, journalist Dan Rapaport said of Clark: “Wyndham Clark came out of nowhere last year.

“It was like the guy hadn’t won a tournament in five years on tour, and then all of a sudden he’s one of the best players in the world, wins a major championship.

“The thing is anytime someone wins a major for the first time, you’re wondering, is this an aberration? But Wyndham is showing us early this year that maybe it wasn’t winning a major that was an aberration, it was the five years before, and this is kind of the guy who he is now. He’s made changes in his life to where he feels like he can sustain this level.”
