Cam Smith and Bryson DeChambeau are among the LIV Golf players vying for glory this week as they take on the Team Championship in Michigan.
The LIV Golf Team Championship takes place at The Cardinal at Saint John’s, and follows Jon Rahm’s Individual Championship title.
His Legion XIII team finished the regular season in first place, although Smith’s Ripper GC enter the event as defending champions.
Smith hosted a party for Ripper GC after they emerged victorious in 2024, with more celebrations expected from the winning team this time around.
Other teams looking to clinch the title in Michigan include Bryson DeChambeau’s Crushers GC and Brooks Koepka’s Smash GC.

Cam Smith says why it can be ‘demoralising’ to play with Bryson DeChambeau
Ahead of the event, Smith’s thoughts on that duo have emerged, with the Australian saying of DeChambeau and Koepka on The Colin Cowherd Podcast: “Yeah, they’re okay!”
And when asked what it’s like to play golf alongside DeChambeau, he responded: “He can be intimidating.
“He can get the driver going as well. For me I would say I’m an average length guy. I don’t hit the ball too short or too far.
“He can just overpower golf courses like nobody else can. It can be quite intimidating but I don’t think there’s a golf course he can play that necessarily I can’t play, if that makes sense.
“It’s pretty crazy, sometimes he is 70, 80, 90 yards ahead of you and it’s pretty demoralising to be honest!”
Where does Bryson DeChambeau rank for LIV Golf driving distance?
Smith had a somewhat disappointing season for his high standards, finishing 18th in the individual standings as DeChambeau took third.
And the latter’s huge hitting was indeed crucial to his impressive performances, with the American behind only Joaquin Niemann for driving distance.
| Rank | Player | Average yards |
| 1 | Joaquin Niemann | 330.7 |
| 2 | Bryson DeChambeau | 328.8 |
| 3 | Dean Burmester | 327.5 |
| 4 | David Puig | 325.5 |
| 5 | Peter Uihlein | 324.2 |
| 6 | Jon Rahm | 323.0 |
| 7 | Tom McKibbin | 321.7 |
| T8 | Caleb Surratt | 320.8 |
| T8 | Matthew Wolff | 320.8 |
| 10 | Lucas Herbert | 318.2 |
DeChambeau did, however, lead the way for scrambling in LIV Golf in 2025, closely followed by Smith in second.
And perhaps unsurprisingly the Australian was hot with the putter, finishing T1 with Caleb Surratt and Charl Schwartzel for putting average.
But one can only imagine just how intimidating it would be anywhere on the course when playing with DeChambeau.
Not only is he a formidable foe with his ability, but his constant interaction with fans and on-course antics make him a hugely popular figure.
His wild celebrations following his 2024 US Open win were thoroughly enjoyed by everyone at Pinehurst, aside from his opponent Rory McIlroy.
