When is the LIV Golf Team Championship?

The LIV Golf Team Championship starts on Friday, August 22, 2025, and the final round is on Sunday, August 24, 2025. It’s the last event of the 2025 season.

The LIV Golf Team Championship is played at The Cardinal at Saint John’s. It’s the first time that a LIV event will be played there.

LIV Golf Team Championship format

Friday’s quarter-finals: The 12 teams go head-to-head in six matchplay fixtures. Each fixture consists of two singles matches and one doubles match.
Saturday’s semi-finals: The six quarter-final winners compete for three final slots in the same matchplay format.
Sunday’s final: The three remaining teams compete for the Championship in strokeplay, where every player’s score counts.

The total prize money on offer at the LIV Golf Team Championship is $50 million. Last year, the winning team received $14 million.

The Golfing Gazette writers have predicted the winner of this weekend’s LIV Golf Team Championship in Michigan.

James Shearman: Sergio Garcia has proven to be a matchplay expert in the Ryder Cup, and he, David Puig, and Abraham Ancer all finished in the top 20 in Indianapolis. They could provide somewhat of an upset in Michigan this weekend.

Jordan Harris: With Joaquin Niemann losing the individual title and Mito Pereira being relegated, Torque will be looking to end the year on a high. Their recent results have been impressive, culminating in their victory in Indianapolis.
