Sporting Mount Rushmore’s are a very likeable topic among fans around the world and it seems the questions have started making their way to the pros as well.
With so many podcasts and social media outlets out there now, ex-players and even current players are able to give more opinion than ever in and in turn, share their thoughts on topics often left for fans.
Debating the ‘Mount Rushmore’ of any sport is often an interesting topic to get into, with just four slots available to fill.
When it comes to golf, Jack Nicklaus named only Tiger Woods in terms of active players in his.
However, for former US Open and PGA Championship winner Martin Kaymer, there are two active players who make it.

Martin Kaymer names his golfing Mount Rushmore
Kaymer was speaking for the official LIV Golf media channels a few weeks ago ahead of LIV Miami and was asked to name his Mount Rushmore of golfers.
And while he did select the usual suspects in Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus, he did make an interesting pick as well as he moved Arnold Palmer out of the chat.
“Of all time? Well it has to be Tiger and Jack Nicklaus. I think it’s quite boring if you take now Arnold Palmer and Gary Player. So I would go with Phil Mickelson as it is in America…and I think I’ll still go with Gary Player,” Kaymer said.
Phil Mickelson a recurring names on golfing Mount Rushmore’s
There are so many players you can pick from and while Nicklaus and Woods speak for themselves, the others are more open to debate.
Big names like Sam Snead, Arnold Palmer, and Seve Ballesteros can easily be mentioned, while even in the modern game, Rory McIlroy or even Scottie Scheffler might be worth noting.
However, it is the inclusion of Phil Mickelson that some might find surprising, albeit he does appear to be a popular choice among players.
Wesley Bryan named Mickelson third in his top five golfers of all time and with six majors and 45 PGA Tour wins to his name, Mickelson is more than deserving of the shout.
Over time, we might well get enough Mount Rushmore opinions to form the actual four up there but for now, it’s fun and interesting to see just who the pros have in mind.
