Tyrrell Hatton has been confirmed as the newest member of LIV Golf after he made the move to join Jon Rahm on the newest your in golf.
Hatton’s move to LIV has been rumoured for weeks but it has finally been announced today just days ahead of the new LIV season.
Hatton joins Rahm and two lesser known players in Caleb Surratt – who is only just turning pro – and Kieran Vincent. They will form the new team in LIV, Legion XIII.
Of course, away from LIV, the attention has been on whether or not Hatton’s defection will have an impact on his selection for next year’s Ryder Cup in New York.

Reports have suggested Luke Donald faces a huge problem with Hatton and Rahm now on the LIV tour and it could open up a can of worms.
So, where do Hatton and Rahm currently stand when it comes to their Ryder Cup selection?
Tyrrell Hatton and Jon Rahm’s Ryder Cup eligibility
As it stands, both Rahm and Hatton have retained their DP World Tour membership which, in turn, means they are indeed eligible for the Ryder Cup as it stands.
According to Sky Sports, retaining that membership means that, for now at least, the European duo are available for selection for Donald again.
However, with plenty of twists and turns coming throughout 2024, this could end up changing along the way.
Donald will be desperate to have both players in his team for Bethpage but knows there are more politics at play here.
Hopefully, for Europe anyway, some sort of deal takes place between the PGA, PIF and DP Tour in the coming weeks and months.
If not, there’ll be pressure from some within the game on Donald to simply ignore the duo.
And that, on it’s own, is a nightmare situation for the Europeans.
