Bryson DeChambeau was a key storyline in the new series of Netflix’s Full Swing, and his dramatic US Open win at Pinehurst was documented in episode three.

DeChambeau won his second US Open title last June after producing the shot of his life to rescue par on the 72nd hole.

After holing the winning putt, the LIV Golf star paraded his US Open trophy up and down the fairway, allowing fans to touch one of golf’s most historic pieces of silverware.

Of course, DeChambeau’s heroics came at Rory McIlroy’s expense in North Carolina. McIlroy quickly left Pinehurst after his final round and admitted in the new series of Full Swing that the loss was the most crushing of his career to date.

Many would’ve assumed that DeChambeau would be open to telling his US Open story to Netflix’s cameras. However, producer Chadd Mumm revealed that the American declined the chance to sit down for an interview.

Speaking to the Mirror U.S. Sports, the Full Swing producer shed light on DeChambeau’s absence.

“So Bryson unfortunately declined to officially participate in the show,” Mumm said. “He never sat down for an interview despite our best efforts.

“I think we did a really good effort of telling his story without his direct point of view.”

Bryson DeChambeau in series four of Full Swing?

Despite DeChambeau refusing the chance to appear in series three, Numm didn’t rule out the American appearing in the next season.

“I wish he would have sat down, but maybe next year. He has his own [YouTube] channel. He likes to save himself for his stuff. I understand that,” he added.

Due to DeChambeau’s substantial online presence and the vast wealth of content available, Netflix was able to tell a pretty good story about the American.

“There is so much media,” Numm added. “He is great in press conferences; he produces so much content on YouTube. It is still a really good portrayal of Bryson. In particular, as he matured and redefined himself in front of the public. We do a really good job of capturing that.”

Hopefully, given his willingness to present his life online, DeChambeau becomes more open to the Netflix cameras if series four one day reaches our screens.
