Bryson DeChambeau is the US Open champion after seeing off Rory McIlroy in a stunning final round at Pinehurst today.
DeChambeau holed a stunning par on the final hole as he played a superb bunker shot to within four feet and then holed the putt under huge pressure to see it out.
For Rory McIlroy, it was yet another agonising miss at a major and he’s now just got the one shot to go out and break his ten year duck by winning The Open at Royal Troon.
Of course, for DeChambeau, it was a massive win and his first big win since making the move over to LIV Golf.
And over on social media, one of LIV Golf’s biggest stars, Phil Mickelson, was online immediately to react and send his congratulations to Bryson.

Taking to X to react to the win from DeChambeau, Mickelson showed his delight at his fellow LIV star in getting the job done.
Mickelson knows a thing or two about winning a major championship having won six majors, albeit he has never got one at the US Open, finishing second six times.
For DeChambeau, he now joins the list of players to have won multiple majors.
The celebrations, you feel, will go long into the night for the American who has become one of the most popular players in the entire world of golf.

Given he moved to LIV and then ventured into the YouTube world, there were big doubts over whether DeChambeau would ever hit the heights again.
However, he has shown in recent months that he is very much one of the best players in the world again.
Today, when it mattered, he held his nerve and produced a stunning shot from the bunker to take the win and make it a painstaking moment for Rory McIlroy at the same time.
Rory, of course, will come again, But this is Bryson’s time and he fully deserves the win.
