The 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black is only one month away, and the two teams are starting to take shape.
12 players (six American and six European) have already qualified for the Ryder Cup based on their performances over the past year.
The two captains, Keegan Bradley (United States) and Luke Donald (Europe), must now decide which golfers will join them in New York.
The Golfing Gazette explains why Bradley has an especially important dilemma, and when the picks for the Ryder Cup will be announced.

Keegan Bradley’s Ryder Cup decision explained
Keegan Bradley narrowly missed out on the 2023 United States Ryder Cup team that ultimately lost 16.5-11.5 to Europe in Rome.
Bradley was later confirmed as the USA captain for the 2025 Ryder Cup in New York, but his impressive performance on the golf course this season has created a problem.
While he did not qualify for the United States team, he finished 11th in the standings and probably deserves to play at Bethpage Black.
He could either play and hand over the captaincy, remain captain and pick another player, or become the first playing captain since Arnold Palmer in 1963.
United States Ryder Cup picks announcement date and time
Keegan Bradley will announce his six captain’s picks for the United States Ryder Cup team at 11 a.m. (Eastern Time) on Wednesday, August 27.
The ceremony will take place at the PGA of America’s headquarters in Frisco, Texas, and is expected to last approximately one hour.
Golf fans in the United States can watch Bradley confirm the USA team on the Ryder Cup YouTube channel or on Golf Channel.
It is anticipated that Bradley will select Sam Burns after reports that he called him after the Tour Championship.

When are the European Ryder Cup picks announced?
Luke Donald will announce the European team for the Ryder Cup at Bethpage on Monday, September 1.
Donald is expected to pick Shane Lowry, Sepp Straka, Ludvig Aberg, Viktor Hovland, Matt Fitzpatrick, and Jon Rahm. Anything else would be a surprise.
