This weekend’s Team Cup in Abu Dhabi is the perfect preparation for European Ryder Cup hopefuls ahead of the 2025 Bethpage Black event.

Players from GB & Ireland are facing off against those from Continental Europe as Luke Donald casts an eye over players vying to make his 12-man team.

Currently, Rory McIlroy, Tyrrell Hatton, Matt Wallace, Paul Waring, Rasmus Hojgaard and Niklas Norgaard are six golfers leading the European qualification standings.

But, with the likes of Hatton and Jon Rahm set to feature on LIV for the majority of the season, the top six promises to be highly volatile over the coming months. Another player who has made his route to Bethpage more complicated is Tom McKibbin. It’s believed McKibbin is about to sign for Legion XIII and become LIV’s newest addition.

With this week’s event in Abu Dhabi viewed as preparation for the Ryder Cup, Team Cup organisers are doing all they can to prepare those competing for what’s to come at Bethpage.

Furthermore, artificial thunderclaps and the European “ole, ole, ole” are believed to have been heard as well.
