Scottie Scheffler was nowhere near his best once again on Friday at Bay Hill, but he did manage to post a round of 71.

Scheffler now heads into the weekend at Bay Hill a whopping 10 strokes behind the leader, Daniel Berger.

The world number one has won the Arnold Palmer Invitational twice before, so his game is clearly very suited to the golf course.

Scheffler was swinging the club superbly well at Bay Hill before the start of the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Are you concerned about Scottie Scheffler right now?

He is really struggling with his first rounds right now…

However, he has cut a frustrated figure out on the golf course during the first two days of the tournament.

His temper boiled over on the 18th green on Friday after he took three putts to get down from 24 feet beyond the hole.

The man from Dallas, Texas, has become more and more vocal over the past year or so when things aren’t going well.

What Scottie Scheffler was doing after 18th hole outburst at Bay Hill

Scheffler will fancy his chances at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, so his frustrations must be borne from the fact that he knows he can do so much better.

Sky Sports duo Nick Dougherty and Wayne Riley spoke about Scheffler’s outburst on the 18th hole on Friday.

We remember what it was like when we were playing, he was angry on that last green, Dougherty said.

It was an outburst on the green, mad as a wasp.

He’s literally stood here right by us now. He’s reset. Immediately, he comes out, he’s laughing and joking, talking to the media.

What is it about his mentality, it’s different, isn’t it?

Not all golfers are like that. What is it about him that allows him to mentally just have an edge on the rest?

I don’t know, Riley responded.

I mean I really don’t know, he can just reset, go to his family. His dad’s out there, his mum’s out there.

I mean, he can just go about his business and, you know, he makes hiccups like everyone does, and he’ll spit the dummy once in a while. Not very often.

We don’t see anger too much, but he can reset.

He’s let it go already, Dougherty said.

It’s already disappeared, and what we do know is that Scottie Scheffler can charge across a weekend. He’s already shown that through this season.

The best part of Scottie Scheffler’s game on day two at Bay Hill

While Scheffler wasn’t at the top of his game, he did impress on-course commentator, Wayne Riley.

He drove the ball incredibly well, Riley said.

Do you think Scottie Scheffler will beat Tiger Woods’ consecutive cuts record?

He's not even halfway there right now…

What was surprising was his wedge game was not what we’ve seen from Scottie Scheffler, and from the perfect spot, most of the time.

So his distance control was out and thus the scoring to be way back in the pack.

Scheffler ranked 12th in strokes gained off the tee on Friday at Bay Hill, while he was ranked way down in 34th in strokes gained approach.

So Riley is spot on with his take on Scheffler’s round on Friday.

If he is to have any chance whatsoever of winning at Bay Hill this week, he will need to seriously improve his iron play.
