Scottie Scheffler is just inevitable, but in all fairness to Ben Griffin, he’s pretty special as well.

There are no words left to describe Scheffler anymore are there? How about extraordinary? How about awesome? How about…Tiger-like?

The world number one recorded his 16th PGA Tour win after his victory at the Memorial Tournament, and now he’s on the cusp of a truly sensational 2025 season.

After round three at Muirfield Village, Jordan Spieth said Scheffler has the best clubface control in the history of the game.

Incredibly, Scheffler has improved in strokes gained approach to the green this season, and that’s a scary prospect for his rivals.

Meanwhile, Griffin will be feeling pretty invincible right now as well.

What Scottie Scheffler told Jack Nicklaus about Ben Griffin at the Memorial

Jack Nicklaus is the greatest golfer of all time.

So it’s no surprise that he has such a close affiliation with the best player of the current generation of stars.

The Golden Bear was visibly delighted when the 28-year-old American walked off the final green at Muirfield Village having holed the winning putt.

However, he was clearly very impressed by Griffin’s efforts on day four as well.

When Nicklaus was congratulating Scheffler, the 18-time major winner praised Griffin.

Nicklaus said, Let’s wait for this young man coming off here, he showed up pretty well.

And Scheffler responded, He did, he’s got a lot of talent.

To which Nicklaus said, Yes he does.

Griffin’s recent rise to prominence has been truly remarkable really, and he ran Scheffler all the way on Sunday at Muirfield Village.

Can Scottie Scheffler match Jack Nicklaus’s major record?

Scheffler still has 15 more majors to win to tie Nicklaus’s record haul.

That sounds like an impossible task, but if anybody can do it, Scheffler can.

He oozes confidence and his calm persona when under the gun sets him apart from the rest.

The man from Dallas has absolutely everything needed to go on and end his career as a real legend of the game.

And if Scheffler has 10 majors or more by the age of 40, who knows how close he can run Nicklaus’s record of 18.
