Scottie Scheffler is well and truly up and running on the PGA Tour in 2025, with two wins in his last three starts.

Scheffler had a delayed start to his latest PGA Tour season due to injury, but wasted no time in getting up to speed.

World number one Scheffler has been backed to sustain his form, having just won his third career major championship.

The American won The Masters in 2022 and 2024, and added the PGA Championship to his honours list earlier this month.

His victory at Quail Hollow immediately followed his win at THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson, events he won by eight shots and five shots respectively.

Scottie Scheffler statistic should worry every other US Open player

Scheffler has been tipped to complete the career grand slam sooner rather than later, with US Open and The Open Championship titles needed to secure the feat.

And there is every chance he can do exactly that given his current trajectory, with Justin Ray sharing an improvement in the player’s strokes gained approach.

He wrote on X: “Scottie Scheffler is now averaging more strokes gained approach per round this season (+1.30) on the PGA Tour than last season (+1.27).”

That is both superb news for the world number one and worrying news for his rivals, who could struggle to knock him off his perch at the US Open.

LIV Golf star Bryson DeChambeau enters the event as the defending champion, but even with that success and his recent form, Scheffler looks certain to be very tricky to get past.

Where does Scottie Scheffler rank for PGA Tour SG: Approach the Green?

Strokes gained approach is just one area in which the American has been dominating on the PGA Tour in 2025.

Regarding accuracy from the fairway, he tops the pile for the proximity to hole and the approaches from > 100 yards fields, along with SG: Approach the Green.

That should provide him with plenty of confidence going into Oakmont, while motivation should come from his absence of a US Open title in his glittering career so far.

Confidence will also come from his two wins this season, having clinched a stunning seven titles on the PGA Tour in 2024.

He truly was unstoppable for the majority of the season last time out, and worryingly for others could be about to do something similar in 2025.

Scheffler also sits in first place for SG: Total, with the 15-time PGA Tour winner also ranked first in other key areas, including scoring average and bogey avoidance.
