The constant rumours around what will happen with the PGA Tour, DP World Tour and LIV Tour are not going away any time soon.

Despite talks about a deal being done at some point, nothing has been announced just yet.

Talks are believed to be taking place between the PGA board and the PIF, who are funding the millions being thrown into the LIV Golf League. Indeed, the last few weeks has seen LIV sign two of the biggest names on the PGA Tour in Jon Rahm and now, Tyrell Hatton.

Of course, Hatton and Rahm’s moves to LIV throw up questions about their Ryder Cup future, with Luke Donald potentially having a problem on his hands.

And according to The Telegraph’s James Corrigan, the issues around the Ryder Cup are one of the major talking points in those negotiations.

PGA Tour insider on how LIV Golf are progressing

Writing in his latest piece for The Telegraph, Corrigan shared an update from an insider on the tour.

“As a Tour insider told me on Monday, “look, if we have not sorted it out with the PIF by the next Ryder Cup then I’m afraid we’ll have bigger problems. The good news is the word is that the talks are progressing – “very positive’ a well-placed source says – and there is guinea hope of a resolution to suit everyone. As a sign of how far they have travelled around that table, the power-brokers have stopped calling it “a merger” and now refer to the potential amalgamation “as a partnership in a new company that would eventually determine the product,” Corrigan writes.

The likes of Rory McIlroy will be sitting back and waiting to see what happens with everything in the world of golf right now.

Indeed, Hatton’s move to LIV is going to impact Rory’s own TGL. Hatton was due to be part of McIlroy’s Boston team but one of the conditions of playing was being a PGA Tour member.

McIlroy, then, like everyone else, will be hoping for some sort of swift resolution to everything soon.
