Nelly Korda has experienced a remarkable season on the LPGA Tour, where she has yet to pick up a win.

Korda has been frustrated this season, with injuries interrupting the progress of the former world number one.

She claimed seven wins on the LPGA Tour in 2024, but failed to continue that momentum into the current campaign.

It is now reaching its conclusion, with Korda in the field for this week’s CME Group Tour Championship before many eyes turn to the 2026 LPGA Tour season.

What Nelly Korda messaged LeBron James about playing golf together

Caitlin Clark loved playing with Korda in the pro-am at The ANNIKA last week, with a similar link-up between the golfer and another basketball star now looking increasingly likely.

She was told after her third round that LeBron James had posted a highlight on his Instagram story, before being asked how mind-blowing that was for her.

How many LPGA Tour events will Nelly Korda win in 2026?

Korda replied: “He loves golf and I love that he loves golf. I love how golf and sports bring so many people together, so it’s fun to see. And hopefully one day we hit the links together.”

And when asked if she’s ever met James, she said: “No, I’ve never met him. Yeah, but I did tell him we should hit the links.”

What Nelly Korda has found ‘very unusual’ about the course for the CME Group Tour Championship

James is an avid golfer, with the NBA star likely continuing his love for the game by watching the exciting finale of the CME Group Tour Championship.

Korda started her final round six shots off the lead in joint-second, with world number one Jeeno Thitikul leading the way.

Discussing how different the course at Tiburon Golf Club is playing without the wind, the two-time major winner said: “Very. Yesterday Jason [McDede] was talking about on 9 he was like, rarely do I ever toss up some grass.

“I’m like, there is no wind at all, which is just very unusual; very unusual for Florida where we always have like that 10 to 15 mile an hour wind.

“But you can kind of see with the score. They’re super low. The golf course is gettable. You’re able to be a little bit more aggressive.”

Korda entered Sunday on 16-under, with the American and her caddie McDede set to be eager for a strong finish at the event.

She’ll then take on the Grant Thornton Invitational alongside Denny McCarthy next month, with the event involving LPGA and PGA stars also taking place at Tiburon Golf Club in Florida.
