Scottie Scheffler managed to shoot a round of 66 on day three of the Tour Championship, despite being nowhere near his best.
Scheffler cut a seriously frustrated figure at East Lake on Saturday, but he is still right in the mix to win the Tour Championship and, of course, the FedEx Cup.
He’s four shots off the lead heading into the final round, and Patrick Cantlay and Tommy Fleetwood will certainly be aware of his presence on the leaderboard.
Scheffler has carded 20 consecutive rounds in the 60s after his 66 at the Tour Championship on Saturday.
He has been incredibly consistent all season long on the PGA Tour, with five wins to his name including two major championships and 15 top-10s from 18 starts, soon to be 16 from 19.
Scheffler said he was not concerned after his second round at the Tour Championship, but perhaps he should have been.
The 29-year-old was nowhere near his best on Saturday at East Lake, and he actually did something that he hasn’t done for two years.

It’s a sign of just how good Scheffler is that he was really disappointed with his round of four-under par 66.
The world number one always manages to grind out a solid score, even when he has his ‘C’ game, and that is what separates him from the rest.
Scheffler made a poor start to his third round at East Lake.
He bogeyed his first two holes of the round – the first time he has done that since the PGA Championship in 2023.
That is a remarkable record and proves just how on the ball Scheffler is every single time that he steps on the first tee.
It really wouldn’t be a shock if the man from Dallas, Texas, avoids starting a round with two consecutive bogeys for another two years, or more.

His stats weren’t actually that bad on day three, aside from an unusually poor putting display.
