Tiger Woods will partner with his son Charlie Woods for the fifth time at the PNC Championship, which takes place in Florida later this month.
His planned appearance comes despite Woods withdrawing from the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas last week, a tournament he hosts.
Scottie Scheffler defended his Hero World Challenge title, but the tournament was dealt a huge blow before it started with the withdrawal of Woods.
The 82-time PGA Tour champion continues to recover from more back surgery, having massively struggled with that part of his body throughout his career.
But Woods still plans to take on the PNC Championship with Charlie, with the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando playing host from December 21.

How fast Charlie Woods hits ahead of PNC Championship with Tiger Woods
The duo are the star pairing at the event which features selected major champions playing with a family member.
And Golf Channel’s Todd Lewis has now shared an intriguing stat about 15-year-old Charlie Woods ahead of the tournament.

“After playing and practising at home recently Tiger Woods has committed to play the PNC Championship with his son Charlie,” he wrote on X.
“The tournament is a scramble and Tiger can use a cart while sharing moments with his son. Btw, Charlie has a ball speed of 180 mph which is above Tour avg.”
How do the ball speeds of Tiger Woods and Charlie Woods compare?
Tiger is already well aware of that ball speed, having admitted during commentary at last week’s Hero World Challenge that Charlie hits it faster than him.
But according to GolfDigest back in 2022 – referencing measurements from Titleist in 1996 – the latter would fall short of the former in terms of ball speed.

The publication noted that Tiger was averaging 180 mph with a ‘1996-era golf ball, a 43.5-inch length driver with a steel shaft and a King Cobra driver that’s comparable to modern-day 3-woods.’
With modern equipment, it continued, 15-time major champion Woods would be hitting numbers in the 190s or higher.
It added that his average was around 20 mph higher than the tour average at the time, with the same advantage in the modern era meaning he would have the highest average on tour ‘by far’.
GolfMonthly provided an update on Woods’s statistics this year, noting that he generated ball speeds of up to 180 mph while practising on the range for the Masters, delivering driver carries of more than 310 yards.
| Rank | Player | Average | Total ball speed (mph) | Total attempts |
| 1 | Cameron Champ | 189.10 | 73,372.42 | 388 |
| 2 | Min Woo Lee | 187.86 | 88,107.67 | 469 |
| 3 | Rory McIlroy | 185.58 | 77,944.49 | 420 |
| 4 | Wyndham Clark | 184.53 | 89,497.51 | 485 |
| 5 | Chris Gotterup | 184.36 | 105,636.38 | 573 |
Through the Hero World Challenge, Cameron Champ leads the way for average ball speed with 189.10 mph, with the tour average sitting at 173.23 mph.
