Bryson DeChambeau will head into the PGA Championship next week as one of the strong favourites to win.
DeChambeau has been in superb form over the past six weeks, and in the last four tournaments he has played, he has entered the final round with a real chance to win.
The 31-year-old American finally got the job done at LIV Korea on Sunday, and now he will have his eyes firmly set on The PGA Championship.
DeChambeau will have a huge advantage at The PGA Championship due to his enormous length off the tee.
The LIV Golf star already has two majors to his name, and he’ll be desperate to make it three next week at Quail Hollow.

DeChambeau has been driving the ball exceptionally long and straight this season, so there’s no reason why he shouldn’t contend in North Carolina next week.
What Bryson DeChambeau could do on the first hole at The PGA Championship
DeChambeau is somewhat of a trailblazer in the game of golf, and he has often attempted things that no other player has before.
The fact that all of his irons are the same length is utterly mind-boggling and his arm-lock putting method is completely unique.
He has also made a habit out of attempting shots that no other golfer has throughout the history of the game.
DeChambeau tore up the ‘how to play a US Open instruction manual’ when he won at Winged Foot back in 2020.
He took the aggressive route and was in attack mode from the first day up until the last, crushing his driver off every single tee, and disregarding the deep rough in the process.
Then what about the line he took on the sixth hole at Bay Hill back in 2021?
Now DeChambeau is being tipped to try something at Quail Hollow that no other player ever has before.

When speaking on the 2025 PGA Championship Preview Show, Johnson Wagner and Taylor Zarzour both gave their opinions on DeChambeau’s chances next week.
Wagner said, “I mean, this golf course couldn’t be better set up for a Bryson DeChambeau.
“I mean, the way he moves the ball right to left, his strength coming out of the rough that’s mown back at you. Bryson is maybe gonna play spoiler again at the PGA.
“And he’ll take a lot of the oxygen with him around the course, as he always does.
Before Zarzour added, “I mean, Johnson can speak to this, but if they set up the camera behind the first tee and they reposition it towards the second hole..
“Bryson is going to go full send over those trees on the first hole, and he’s going to take a line that no one else is going to try to take. Seen him do that in the past when he played on the PGA Tour, but he’s going to try to take a lot of the energy around the golf course with him, and he’s going to try to do it immediately.”
The first hole at Quail Hollow is a 505-yard, dog-leg right par-four, but by taking a line straight over the trees on the right, DeChambeau could easily reduce it to a driver and a lob wedge.
Bryson DeChambeau tells amateurs how to achieve 200 mph ball speed
If you want to hit the ball longer off the tee, who better to take advice from than DeChambeau?
The 31-year-old LIV golfer once explained the technique needed to start ‘hitting bombs’ off the tee.
He said, “You want to know how I gain distance? Well listen in, this is how you do it. You’re going to be over 200mph, like that (clicks fingers). Guys, I want you to understand, it’s not how quickly you swing it, it’s about how much force you put into the golf club. We want to produce more force into the handle, that’s how you produce power, you’re not going to swing quickly. You’re going to put force into the golf club. The biggest misconception about speed is you taking it back and trying to apply a lot of speed at the top, you’re going to throw the club out that way (towards trail foot), you don’t want that, because then you’ve got to pull the club this way (towards lead foot). You want to feel like it loads down into a place where then you can pull the club through the impact area. That is how you produce speed folks.“
| Season | Driving distance | Rank | Driving accuracy | Rank |
| 2025 | 332 yards | 1st | 62.7% | 9th |
| 2024 | 323.5 yards | 1st | 54.11% | 36th |
| 2023 | 316.8 yards | 3rd | 55.99% | 37th |
DeChambeau will undoubtedly be a force to be reckoned with at The PGA Championship next week.
And with his incredible ability with a driver in his hand, it’s no surprise really is it.
