Billy Horschel is among the PGA Tour players to have immediately moved on from The Masters, currently taking on the RBC Heritage.

The 2025 RBC Heritage is now underway at Harbour Town in South Carolina, where Justin Thomas forged an early lead.

Thomas was excited after tying the course record in his first round, having finished Thursday on 10-under in the latest PGA Tour competition of 2025.

He is three shots ahead of Scottie Scheffler and Russell Henley in second, with The Masters champion Rory McIlroy not in the field.

Horschel was gutted after missing the cut at The Masters, having exited Augusta National early with rounds of 77 and 72.

Billy Horschel signs fans leg after wayward tee shot at the RBC Heritage

He has now posted an even-par 71 in his opener at the RBC Heritage, but it certainly wasn’t without drama.

American ace Horschel sent his tee-shot wayward on the par four 10th, with his ball hitting the leg of a spectator.

Horschel was, however, quick to apologise in his own unique way as he signed around the huge lump on the leg of the fan before giving her a hug and receiving an applause from those nearby.

Horschel managed to make par despite the distraction, but he does find himself sitting well back in the leaderboard after day one.

He occupies T51 heading into round two, level with the likes of Robert MacIntyre, Chris Kirk and Michael Kim.

It has certainly been an underwhelming season for Horschel so far to say the least, with six cuts made from his 11 events.

He did, however, shine in the inaugural TGL season, with calls made for Horschel to play in the Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black after his efforts at the SoFi Center earlier this year.

But he also showed his true worth during his first round of the RBC Heritage, with a handful of golf fans praising Horschel for how he dealt with his unfortunate situation.

“Class act! Well done man!” one fan wrote on X, with another saying: “Unfortunate hit, glad it wasn’t worse, props to handling it with grace and humor, still gotta be more careful out there, fans deserve safety too.”
