The DP World Tour’s flagship BMW PGA Championship starts on Thursday; however, the small matter of the lucrative Pro-Am takes centre stage beforehand.
Wentworth will host A-list celebrities on Wednesday, as the likes of Tom Holland, Andy Murray and Gareth Bale partner with some of golf’s elite stars.
Rory McIlroy is in action, and tennis icon Murray greeted the four-time major winner at Wentworth’s immaculate practice facility.
Andy Murray and Rory McIlroy’s Wentworth conversation shared

McIlroy initially approached the former Wimbledon winner ahead of the Pro-Am.
The Northern Irishman asked: “How’s things?”
Murray replied, “I’m good; I’ve been playing a lot of golf the last few weeks.” The Scot then discussed McIlroy’s 2024 performance.
“Great job this year,” Murray added. “It’s been tough, but you’ve done super well.”
Rory McIlroy looking to bounce back from Irish Open heartache at Wentworth
The BMW PGA Championship provides McIlroy with an excellent chance to bounce back from last week’s Irish Open heartache.
McIlroy missed out by a shot at Royal County Down after failing to drain an eagle putt on the par-five 18th.
McIlroy has remained positive despite missing out and will fancy his chances of bouncing back at the DP World Tour’s base this weekend.
Clearly, the Northern Irishman is in excellent form and if he finds himself in the lead, he will be hard to stop in Surrey.
