The reason why DeChambeau cannot play in this yearβs President Cup centres around PGA Tour membership.
The selection criteria for the US and international teams are different, but one common one is that all players must be eligible to participate on the PGA Tour.
Of course, DeChambeau is one of the pioneers of LIV Golf. However, he is currently unable to play on the PGA Tour, so he cannot participate in this yearβs event.
Considering his current popularity and ever-increasing fan base, the 30-year-old being ruled out of Team USA events wonβt cut it with the American golfing public for much longer.
