In one of the shocks of the last decade in golf, team USA will be going with Keegan Bradley as their Ryder Cup captain for 2025.
The event in Bethpage gives the US the ideal chance to win back the treasured trophy as they look to overcome the nightmare that was Rome in 2023.
Zach Johnson’s dysfunctional group never got going and were out on their feet after day one really as the Europeans rallied and punished in equal measure.
Of course, on American soil, things will be different and many a USA fan had expected the great Tiger Woods to lead them.
However, when Woods apparently dropped out of the race earlier today, the question was who was going to be selected by the PGA of America instead.

The same report breaking the news on Tiger suggested Fred Couples, Davis Love III and Stuart Cink were the three most likely candidates.
However, since then, reporter Bob Harig has claimed that 38-year-old Keegan Bradley is in line to get the nod instead.
That report from Harig has since been confirmed by the PGA of America.
Naturally, the decision to select Bradley – who was famously left out by Zach Johnson in 2023 – has caused quite the stir on social media.
And it’s safe to say there’s some confusion among the American audience.
US golf fans are baffled after hearing Keegan Bradley will be Ryder Cup captain instead of Tiger Woods
Bradley’s apparent selection is a huge curve ball really and that feeling has been apparent over on social media platforms.
Taking a quick look at X and in reply to Harig’s update, it’s safe to say US golf fans are a touch confused.
Another user, @jjcielak was left just as confused as he hinted at it being a bit of payback for not being picked at all in 2023.
“lol. Sorry for not picking you last time, so now you can be captain” they wrote.
While @WMRUCKER was equally as baffled and commented on just how young Bradley is.
“Not even 40 yet, and hasn’t been on Ryder Cup team in 10 years. One top 10 PGA season. We need a Ryder Cup Championship next year”
While the theme continued the further down the comments we scrolled.
Should Bradley be confirmed tomorrow, it will be interesting to see just how the rest of the golf world reacts.
