Tiger Woods has been tipped to be the next Ryder Cup captain for Team USA and it looks like he’s come to a decision.
While Team Europe are settled and going with Luke Donald for a second year, the decision on who will captain the USA has been up in the air for some time.
Naturally, Woods has been the main name getting a mention and after the debacle of Zach Johnson in Rome, many in the US have called on Woods to be the man to lead the comeback.
However, with nothing signed and sealed and an apparent announcement due by tomorrow by the PGA of America, it looks like Tiger has made his mind up.
Tiger Woods makes decision on Ryder Cup captaincy
According to a report from The Telegraph today, Woods has apparently decided he will NOT be the next Ryder Cup captain for Team USA.
The report states that Woods had been in discussions with the PGA of America and wanted an agreement to be reached where his workload wasn’t quite as high.

However, nothing has been agreed and according to sources, Woods has now turned down the chance.
That leaves the door open for a number of other names to take the job for Bethpage in 2025.
Woods, of course, will still hope to lead his country one day.
However, with so much going on in terms of his duty to the PGA Tour and discussions with the PIF and LIV Golf, Woods has a lot on his plate.
That, coupled with the fact he has to work extremely hard just to get in shape for a few events a year, means Woods simply doesn’t have the time to dedicate.
Tomorrow, then, looks like being the day Luke Donald will find out who he’s up against.
