Tommy Fleetwood has added another trophy to his cabinet after winning the DP World India Championship at Delhi Golf Club.
Fleetwood is closing in on double figures for DP World Tour wins after his success, which arrived via a two-shot win over Keita Nakajima.
The former fired a superb seven-under 65 on Sunday, with Fleetwood having started his final round two shots back.
Nakajima failed to produce similar heroics on the last day of the DP World India Championship, carding a three-under 69 to end his impressive week on 20-under.
The 25-year-old from Japan finished two shots ahead of Thriston Lawrence, Alex Fitzpatrick and Fleetwood’s Ryder Cup teammate Shane Lowry.

What Tommy Fleetwood said to Keita Nakajima after beating him at the DP World India Championship
Fleetwood spoke to the media after his eighth DP World Tour title, saying of his success: “It’s been an amazing week.
“I think everybody has been excited about this tournament being on the schedule and on the calendar. Some great players that played, some great names have come over to support the game and to play over here.
“I think for me personally, I’ve enjoyed it so much. I felt like I was playing well at the start of the week. I’ve enjoyed the test of the golf course.
“I’ve enjoyed the fans here in Delhi and the hospitality that we’ve been given, how everybody has been so kind to me and my family.
“Then today, I knew going out, I said at the beginning of the day, it’s another opportunity. These are the times that we’re going to look back on.
“Whether it happened for me today or not, I knew that it was important for me to go out there and enjoy it, to look forward to it.
“I just happened to play great. It was such an enjoyable round, and Keita, I have to give credit to him. I said to him afterwards, he played amazing.
“The par he made on 16, the putt he holed after me on 17, I think he did amazing, and he was a pleasure to play against today. Overall it set it up perfectly for me, but there’s been so many amazing things no matter what this week.”
Tommy Fleetwood says what he would love to do less often when in contention
Viktor Hovland and Rory McIlroy were also among the star-studded field, while their Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald played at the DP World India Championship too.
But also in contention with Nakajima on Sunday was Daniel Hillier, although he eventually fell away to finish T9.
The run-in was also discussed by Fleetwood post-tournament, with the champion having been asked if he checks in on the scoreboard during his final rounds.
He replied: “Yeah, you’re always watching. I would love to kind of watch them less. I speak to Bob Rotella about it. But they’re there, so I’m just aware.
“For me it’s like I’ll look at the scoreboards but then I have to bring myself back to knowing that I just have to play the golf shot that’s in front of me, so I sort of don’t really avoid them.
“I saw Dan had a good start. I think after three holes I was three behind Keita maybe, so people had started off fast.
“It’s one of those things; you never know when everyone is going to come. You just have to keep playing, keep focusing and not force things.
“Today I got my run from the fourth hole. I birdied 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, and I managed to make things happen there.
“I actually looked at a leaderboard on 14, I was on the 14th tee, and it came up I was leading all of a sudden on my own and it looked like Dan had struggled on the 14th hole.
“You never really know what’s going to happen. You’re not in control of what anybody else is doing, just what you’re doing.
“So as much as I look and sort of read the situation and what’s going on, I just know how important it is to bring myself back to focusing on me and dealing with my golf shot. Like I say, you can’t control anybody else, just yourself.”
As always, Fleetwood hit the nail on the head with his comments, with all players in contention surely in the same situation regarding the scoreboard.
It is seemingly near impossible to avoid regular updates while on the course, but it looks like the Englishman managed to find the right balance in Delhi.
