Tommy Fleetwood and Luke Donald have reacted after one of golf’s all-time greats decided to call time on a glittering European Tour career.
Donald, the mastermind of Team Europe’s Ryder Cup in Rome, is still actively playing on the PGA Tour and European Tour. However, 2024 hasn’t been overly kind to the 46-year-old, particularly in the US, after he missed cuts in four of his five events.
Tommy Fleetwood has also endured a busy season and is getting set to compete in a hectic stretch of golf, which includes The Open Championship, Scottish Open and the Olympics in Paris.
The pair, however, took time on Friday evening to pay homage to one of the greatest European golfers of all time.

Bernhard Langer’s outing at the BMW International Open was his last and 513th appearance on the DP World Tour.
The two-time major champion – ever the entertainer – went out in style with an entertaining driver off the deck on his final hole at the Golfclub Munich Eichenried.
After an emotional post-round interview, Langer received messages from Fleetwood and Donald on X.
“A legend, one of a kind, and a man I have so much respect for. Thank you for everything you’ve done for the Tour and its players, past and present. @BernhardLanger6 @DPWorldTour,” wrote Fleetwood.
Donald added: “Thank you, Bernhard, for inspiring so many over your incredible career.”
Bernhard Langer lived the dream for 51 years
Langer, who is a two-time Masters champion, was clearly emotional after the conclusion of his round at the BMW International.
“It was very difficult and complicated, but it was my dream,” said an emotional Langer.
“Sorry, yeah, I was able to live that dream for 51 years now.”
Langer isn’t officially retiring from all forms of golf; his 50-year chapter on the European Tour is now set to come to an end.
The 2025 Masters at Augusta National could potentially end the German’s illustrious career.
