It’s a big question that will split opinion but Tommy Fleetwood has done his best to try and pick one out of both Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy.
Ahead of the Canadian Open this weekend, McIlroy goes into the tournament as a red hot favourite having won the event twice from the last three.
Last year, Nick Taylor came out on top but McIlroy has form at the tournament and in 2019, won by a massive seven shots.
Of course, world number one Scottie Scheffler is missing from the field this week as he takes a break after a chaotic few weeks on and off the course.

Scheffler has seen his charges dropped today after events outside Valhalla. But he isn’t in the field for the Canadian Open, leaving the door open for others.
One of those others hoping to capitalise is Tommy Fleetwood. And when speaking to the media today ahead of his opening round, Fleetwood made arguments for both McIlroy and Scheffler when asked who was top dog right now.
Tommy Fleetwood gives balanced verdict on who is best out of Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy
Speaking to the media (quotes from the Irish Golfer), Fleetwood admitted that while he feels Rory is the best he’s played with, he would find it hard to not back Scheffler at the minute.
“I would like to see it. Look, I still think, I’ve said it a few times, and I never want to speak out of turn about other players, I still believe from everything that I’ve experienced since I’ve been playing that Rory is the best of our generation. I still believe that,” Fleetwood said.
“However, players do arrive, and it’s hard to say anything to back against Scottie Scheffler. Now, if you were a betting man, I think it’s very hard to bet against Scottie Scheffler, the way he’s playing.
“Who knows. It will be a great debate. It will be great to see at any given time, because it does happen rarely, the best players in the world and in the World Rankings, if you get two or three of them playing absolutely their best game, it would be lovely to see.
“Very difficult question. I think golf courses do make a difference.
“Then I also think, you know, you look at, major championships are generally, most of the time I think they’re a good indicator of the best players in the world, and you look at the guys that end up at the top end of that leaderboard on a major, I think it always, for the most part, does them justice.”

It would really be a dream scenario for the PGA Tour to get a fully firing Rory McIlroy going head to head with an in-form Scottie Scheffler.
Of course, that isn’t going to happen this weekend. But the dream situation would be for both players to be in the mix in a major.
With the US Open around the corner, both McIlroy and Scheffler will fancy themselves.
And what a sight it would be to see them going at it at level scores going into the final round at Pinehurst.
Like Fleetwood says, it’s so hard to pick a winner and it really would be a case of sitting back and admiring two of the best to ever do it go at it.
